There is a program called MSCONFIG.EXE located in the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
With it you can configure your ( START->RUN->MSCONFIG )

• Startup Options
• CONFIG.SYS
• AUTOEXEC.BAT
• SYSTEM.INI
• WIN.INI
• Programs that are starting from the Registry

You can then easily check or uncheck any of the items in each section
